I am a DUI Defense Attorney, not a Criminal Defense Attorney.   My specialized practice, knowledge and experience provides my clients an advantage that criminal defense attorneys cannot match.   Simply put, I put 100% of my effort into the defense of people, just like you, charged with DUI.  I do not represent drug dealers, thieves, or violent criminals.  With several hundred successful DUI cases behind me, I am able to prove my  value by providing a copy of case results to you before you hire us.

I am a former police officer, former U.S. Marine, former prosecutor, and my practice is dedicated exclusively to DUI Defense.  During my career, I have examined thousands of DUI cases from every possible angle.  I look for and understand the defenses that are found “between the lines” of a police report.  My practice is dedicated exclusively to DUI defense (not criminal defense).  This experience and specialized knowledge has led to several recent successful outcomes.

Prosecutors and law enforcement officers know that I know DUI better than anyone else.  As a result, I am able to achieve positive results for our clients in over 92% of the cases we handle.  I cannot guarantee a successful outcome in every case.  However, I have litigated and won in courtrooms throughout Pennsylvania.  As a former police officer and prosecutor, I am often able to achieve positive results without the necessity and expense of trial.

I believe in a holistic approach to DUI Defense. DUI has nothing to do with a person’s character.  You are not a “bad person” because you made the mistake of getting behind the wheel of a car after consuming alcohol or using a controlled substance.  Rather, you are human.   In many cases, I work with my clients’ employers to facilitate a means by which my clients can remain employed.  I utilize a number of educational and advocacy techniques to educated employers about the reality of DUI, not the propaganda that is often used to portray DUI defendants in a negative light.  I am proud to say that 100% of my clients who have sought my assistance with an employment related issues arising from the DUI are still employed with the same employer.

I began my career in law enforcement in 1990.   I served in law enforcement positions in California and Virginia.  I received advanced training in the field of DUI and Drug Interdiction.  I received advanced training in Field Sobriety Testing and Breathalyzer Administration.

I began my legal career with the Appellate Division of the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office in 2004.  I was responsible for drafting the Commonwealth’s briefs in a number of cases dealing with changes to DUI laws.  I am among the most well versed attorneys in this specialized area of law. My Appellate experience allowed me to transition to the Appellate Division of the Las Vegas, Nevada District Attorney’s Office.  While there, I was primarily responsible for Death Penalty appeals.  In addition, I worked on a number of high profile homicide cases in conjunction with the Major Crimes Unit.

I returned to Pennsylvania as a member of the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office.  While there, I prosecuted DUI cases.   My experience as a prosecutor allows me to understand the inner workings of a prosecutor’s office and negotiate favorable results not only based upon the law and facts of the case, but also with respect to the prosecutor’s mindset.
